Programs and Initiatives

From 6 participants in the IYWP’s week-long pilot program in the summer of 2010, the number of children and teens involved in the IYWP has grown exponentially: over 300 K-12 students participated in IYWP programming in 2011, over 400 participated in 2012, and over 500 will participate in 2013.

The IYWP’s volunteer base has grown as well. The number of IYWP volunteers has steadily increased since it began with a handful of volunteers in 2010. In Fall 2012 alone, 80 IYWP volunteers devoted 718 hours of time to working directly with Iowa’s youth.
