Choose Your Own Adventure: A Dramatic Workshop

Saturdays: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Oh no! Evil Dr. Earwig is about to crawl into the President’s nose and control his brain. What should our hirsute hero, the moustachioed pistachio, do?
A) Use the end of his moustache to lasso Dr. Earwig’s six legs.
B) Distract Dr. Earwig by whipping up a tasty Italian ice-cream.
In this writing and performance workshop, we’ll begin by using the techniques of improvistional comedy to learn an important skill: cooperation. By working with each other, by channeling the secrets of our unconscious, and by listening, we’ll write a script that’s stranger and more wonderful than any of us could have imagined on our own. In four sessions, we’ll learn how to develop characters and complete a dramatic arc. The workshop will culminate with a performance on November 12 in which your friends and family get to “choose their own adventure.”
Now the choice is yours. Do you,
A) Discover the moustachioed pistachio’s superpowers—and your own powers of creativity.
B) Eat chips on your couch.
If you choose “A” (and we hope you do!), sign up now! Enrollment is limited, so sign up ASAP. The fee for this workshop is “pay what you can” (pay what you can here). Got questions? Email theteam@iywp.org or call us at 319-804-9979.
