To name just a few programs that your donation would support RIGHT NOW, we’re running a great poetry workshop for 8 to 10 year olds at the Iowa City Public Library, a digital storytelling workshop for high school students at the Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa offices in Des Moines, and an after-school creative writing program at Mark Twain Elementary School. Participants met at The Haunted Bookshop for “Harrowing Tales,” our Gothic fiction workshop, and at the Iowa City Public Library and the North Liberty Community Library for our “Poemics” (poetry and comics fusion) language arts workshop. Here are some of the North Liberty participants’ visual interpretations of the Wallace Stevens poem “Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird“:

We’re offering a genre-bending, mind-bending, one-of-a-kind Poetry / Comic Strip Fusion Workshop at not one, but three different public libraries (Coralville, Iowa City, and North Liberty); we’re also offering a terrifyingly great Gothic Fiction workshop at Iowa City’s own Haunted Bookshop in Iowa City. Space is limited, so please register now.
